- 1. MBBS8500TUR V.1 & Cache Setting
- Symptom1: When 1-2 pins are closed at JP11 for 256 Kb Cache memory as in the
manual, system won't boot up.
Solution1: It's error in the manual. For 256 Kb cache memory, open all pins of
JP11.
Symptom2: When you choose CD-ROM for hard drive type in Standard CMOS setup for the
CD-ROM drive attached to the IDE controller on board, system might hang after memory
count.
Solution2: Toshiba CD-ROM drives are known to work. However for other branded
products, select Not Installed.

- 2. MBBS8500TUC / TUR & Cirrus Logic Graphics Cards
- Symptom: Intel recently released that their chip-set 430HX (8500TUC) and 430VX
(8500TUR) have compatibility problems with Cirrus Logic Graphics cards
GD5440/54M40/5430/5M30.
Solution: Cirrus Logic GD5446/5436 are known to work, or you can use other brands

- 3. MBBS8500TUR & any PnP cards
- Symptom: When the above two are used together, Motherboard might fail to detect
PnP cars.
Solution: Replace motherboard with upgraded one.

- 4. MBBS8433UD & Seagate 1.2 Gb HD
- Symptom: When the above two are used together, the HD might fail to boot.
Solution: In the CMOS setting-PCI/Green Function, change PIO mode to 3 from Auto.

- 5. Cyrix 6x86 CPU & Vibra 16 PnP
- Symptom: When the above two are used together, Motherboard BIOS won't detect
Vibra 16 PnP card when worm boot (Ctrl-Alt-Del). Cold boot will detect it.
Solution: Use Intel CPU or other sound card.

- 6. MBBS8433UD & TI Memory
- Symptom: When the above two are used together, there may be some memory errors
such as "memory test fails at boot-up" or himem.sys will not load.
Solution: Replace TI memory with other brand.

- 7. MBBS8433UD & PBVPCIS3-2
- Symptom: When the above two are used together, the screen may have just vertical
lines at 256 colors or higher.
Solution: There are 3 Solutions.
1) Upgrade to 2 Mb
2) Enable "feature connector" using software provided with the video card
3) Change the video card with other brand

- 8. Cyrix CPU, SCSI HD, IDE CD-ROM Drive
- Symptom: When the above three are used together, you may get "divide
overflow" error message during CD-ROM driver loading.
Solution: Install same type of HD and CD-ROM Drive.

- 9. MBBS8433UD & Diamond SupraExpress 28.8 Modem
- Symptom: After PnP driver provided by Diamond installed, loading the driver will
give error message.
Solution: Do not install the driver. Configure your communication software with the
com port used by the modem.

- 10. MBBS1433UI & AMD 5x133-A
- Setup Advice: You must have MBBS1433UI V.7 with BIOS dated 11-06-95. Close 2 & 3 pin
of the jumper 20.

- 11. MBBS8500UUR & 1 Mb Cache
- Symptom: When the above two are used together, there may be some memory errors
such as "memory test fails at boot-up" or himem.sys will not load.
Solution: In BIOS Feature setup, disable Auto Configuration and set the next 5
settings to 1WS.

- 12. MBBS8500TEC V.1 & 100 MHz CPU
- Symptom: When the above two are used together, there may be some memory errors
such as "memory test fails at boot-up" or himem.sys will not load.
Solution: 100 MHz or higher CPU has VRE spec voltage. Set CPU speed at 90 MHz or
upgrade the motherboard to V.2 or higher. V.2 or higher boards have correct jumper setting

- 13. Unstable Triton Motherboards (TEC, TAC)
- Symptom: There are reports of Intel Triton motherboards and system instability.
Solution: Try setting all PIO IDE settings to mode 2.

- 14. MMSDBT1853 (BTC 1853 Sound Card) & Supra PnP Modem
- Symptom: In Windows95, the sound card is not working. Under Device Manager in
System Properties shows a conflict mark beside the sound card device icon.
Solution: It is more than likely that both of the PnP cards are using same IRQ,
possibly 5. Follow the procedures below.
1) Remove both the modem and sound card drivers from Device Manager.
2) Turn off the PC and Remove the modem card.
3) Reboot
and go into Peripheral Setup under CMOS setting.
4) Disable the second serial port or change to COM4. Save and Exit
5) Let Windows 95 set up the sound card.
6) Shut down the PC and install the modem.
7) Re-boot the PC and make sure you see the address of the modem on BIOS boot screen.
8) Let Windows 95 detect the modem.

- 15. MMSDBT1853 (BTC 1853 Sound Card) & CD-ROM Drives
- Symptom: Internal Stack Overflow when CD-ROM drive which is attached to the sound
card initializes.
Solution: Jumper 5 on the sound card is set for 1-2 (IRQ 12) at the factory. Change
the jumper to IRQ 15.

- 16. 8500TVX & S3 Video Cards
- Symptom: Various video problems including system crash or becoming unstable.
Solution: Go into CMOS setting, and change Advanced CMOS Setup C000:32K Shadow to
"Disabled".
